(2022) Episode 20 – Living through a difficult experience and coming out on the other side of it stronger than ever can oftentimes be a tremendously rewarding feeling, and for Stephanie Heck McLean, that is certainly true. Surviving through years of active opioid addiction, finding a way to get help and pursue treatment, and living in recovery has motivated her to use her experience to help others. She is now the Peer Support Coordinator with SORC – Sandhills Opioid Response Consortium – and is on the board of a local non-profit: Evolve 180. Stephanie relies on her family, circle of friends, and church as she continues her journey of recovery and finds so much joy in helping others on their path.
