For National Library Week, the Harold D. Cooley Library will be celebrating with a Food for Fines event. It’s from April 9-14 and during that week, the Cooley Library will be accepting nonperishable food items in lieu of cash to pay off overdue fines on HD Cooley items. Each food item will equal $1. This will not apply to fines for other library’s items or for lost item fees. All donated foods will go to My Sister’s House, a shelter for domestic abuse survivors. People who do not have fines but who would like to donate are welcome to bring food by that week.
